With your help we can save these rare birds through captive breeding to support wild populations of takahe, kaka, whio and pateke, and the maintenance and improvement of this family friendly park.

NZ Nature Fund is managing the funds raised and is seeking further donations to support the work undertaken by the Department of Conservation biodiversity rangers at the Te Anau Bird Sanctuary.

We invite you to support the work this sanctuary does in breeding rare and endangered birds for release, delivering free guided tours for school groups and providing an accessible, family friendly environment where locals and visitors can connect with nature and learn more about some of Aotearoa/New Zealand’s rarest birds.

Our birds are part of our nation’s heritage that we believe all our nations people and visitors should have the opportunity to encounter.

Please support the great work the Te Anau bird sanctuary team are doing and help NZ Nature Fund raise funds for this very special community facility.

We need to save and protect our native birds.

We need your support.
